"I Love Her So I Let Her Help"

Image
I truly wish I was more consistent with getting these emails out — my apologies BUT I'm so glad you're here! Welcome back. This week was actually so crazy!! To start us off, the title of this week's email comes from a story someone told on Sunday. They told a story about how their MTC teacher was seriously good at making cookies, but he had this little niece that liked to help! He said, "when she would help me it would take a little longer, and they wouldn't turn out exactly how I wanted them to. But I love her so I let her help." He then related that to missionaries. AND it reminded me of Elder Shumway's talk from conference! He says, "If Christ were physically here, He would visit the sick, teach the Sunday School class, sit with the heartbroken young woman, and bless the children. He can do His own work. But He lives this principle of letting us act and learn, so He sends us in His place." I am not a perfect missionary, and I never will be. Bu...

People Hate The Church Because Satan Hates Truth

Welcome backkk!! Kansas is finally turning green!! It makes me so happy! I was reading some stuff this week and part of it stuck out to me and it was just so good that it deserved to be the title of my email this week. Y'all this week was AMAZING!! Conference weekend and some crazy interactions! Just wait for Thursday and Friday hahah Monday was awesome we had p-day in Manhattan! And got sonic pebbled ice on the way home LOL it's the only thing that kept me drinking water. We played some pickleball with the district, got chick-fil-a for lunch and played volleyball with some of the zone. Oh! When we were waiting for the Elders to go to pickleball we went to Marshall's and me and Goates got matching dresses. Tuesday was trippyyyy we usually have DCM on Tuesdays but we had to switch it so the Elders could go get their windshield fixed so it felt a little strange. hahah I just remembered what I was going to tell Cj this week. Y'all me and Sister Goates are sitting in Barbar...

We're All Invited To Be A Part Of It!

Oh hey! Long time no see... (I sent my last email like 3 days ago LOL) How has it been another week already?! The time goes by so fast but so slow. Anywho let's get into this week! The title of this week's email comes from one of our many meetings this Sunday! You guys. We go to like 5 or 6 hours of church every week. God seriously has a sense of humor because He knows how much I loved second hour at home so now He's given me like 3x that much here in Kansas! But I love Him so I love every minute I'm there — except yesterday it was ward conference for both wards so it was LITERALLY the same two hours twice.. same speakers, same talks, same lessons. Anyway we had our missionary coordination meeting which is essentially all the auxiliaries asking us how they can help the missionary efforts and one of the people from the stake said "it's all the work of the Lord and we're all invited to be a part of it!" So this upcoming week you can all be missionaries j...

2 Nephi 25:26

Hello Hello! I hope y'all didn't miss me too much but don't fret I didn't forget about you. I'm just emailing like 4 days late whoops!! And to all the Elders and Sisters reading this, I'm not interfering with any missionary work writing this so don't even worry. Anyway let's get into it! The title of this week's email comes from a postcard I have hanging right by my desk. I'm going to be so real. I thought I knew why I was going on a mission but the more and more I'd tell people the story of how I started and submitted my papers, got my call, etc etc. I realized that I have no clue... I truly have no clue what I'm doing.. so this scripture has been a good reminder that we do it all "Because of Him"! Even if I don't find a why for myself, I can come home saying I did it all for Him. I talked of, rejoiced in, and preached of Christ. And that'll be enough. Aanywho!! I usually write my emails like Monday night so you've ...

Don't Waste Any Minutes

Hello Hello!! Another week has come and gone in the good old state of Kansas. I'm so grateful to be a missionary and I'm SO EXCITED to get to continue teaching and learning and serving and just being a missionary. I wish I had some super cool and fun experiences to share this week but if I'm being honest, the week was just a quick and busy one! I swear I just got here and now we're halfway through the transfer. Tuesday was uneventful other than some guy trying to trip us up by asking the "so you believe you can become gods" question, which was stupid, and apparently, he's been doing this to lots of missionaries for a long time. His wife is a member and she got mad at him for asking it again hahah. Wednesday was my very first ZONE CONFERENCE!! And guess who I ran into—(see pictures). Oh Elder Harper. What a guy. And apparently, you get in trouble for taking pictures like this, so luckily President Barr didn't see. But during ZoCo, President Barr did tal...

Front Row Seat To The Greatest Miracle On Earth!

Hello everyone!! I do apologize for the late email and it'll probably be a pretty short one too BUT lots of good stuff happened this week and I'm super excited to share it with y'all!! P-day today was awesome! We went up to Salina so I met some more missionaries from our zone, we played pickleball OUTSIDE!!! It was so nice, and we all got some MUCH NEEDED sun, and I'm actually half decent at pickleball so it's fun! AND I got to talk to my family, which is always the best part of my week One thing that I think is super cool is ever since I got here everyone has looked and felt super familiar!! I've always taken that feeling as a testament that you're where you're supposed to be with the people you're supposed to be with. All the ward members, my district and my companion, all our friends and even the people who just randomly answer their doors! It's a crazy experience, I can just FEEL that we're all children of God. We had a blizzard warning l...

The FIELD Is White Already To Harvest

Image
Hello hello!! Holy cow, what a crazy week! So many blessings and miracles! Oh, and I'm in Kansas now, by the way! So I'm officially out in the (literal) field! Monday was my last day in the MTC, and it was all bittersweet. My district stayed up way past when we were supposed to, just talking and laughing, and it was so fun. I miss them tons! Tuesday morning at like 3:40, Sister Davis, Sister Kelley, Sister Perreira, and I were all practically SPRINTING OUT OF THE RESIDENCE HALL TO T4 because, of course, we were running late (what can I say, I'm still me). OH! And Davis and I were up until like 2 a.m. packing the night before! We got to T4, and a super nice MTC worker said very calmly, "Sister. This is our bus, so it leaves when you get on." Bless that MTC worker, truly, because I was STRESSED! We were kind of rushed and didn't get to say bye to Kelley and Perreira, which is DEVASTATING. But it's okay. We're all going out to do this great work. We had a...
