The FIELD Is White Already To Harvest

Hello hello!!

Holy cow, what a crazy week! So many blessings and miracles! Oh, and I'm in Kansas now, by the way! So I'm officially out in the (literal) field!

Monday was my last day in the MTC, and it was all bittersweet. My district stayed up way past when we were supposed to, just talking and laughing, and it was so fun. I miss them tons!

Tuesday morning at like 3:40, Sister Davis, Sister Kelley, Sister Perreira, and I were all practically SPRINTING OUT OF THE RESIDENCE HALL TO T4 because, of course, we were running late (what can I say, I'm still me). OH! And Davis and I were up until like 2 a.m. packing the night before! We got to T4, and a super nice MTC worker said very calmly, "Sister. This is our bus, so it leaves when you get on." Bless that MTC worker, truly, because I was STRESSED! We were kind of rushed and didn't get to say bye to Kelley and Perreira, which is DEVASTATING. But it's okay. We're all going out to do this great work.

We had a long travel day on Tuesday because, for whatever reason, we were flying to ATLANTA and had a two-hour layover just to fly right back to Kansas. BUT! We all made it with all our luggage! Tuesday night, we had dinner at President Barr's house and slept the night in a hotel (my companion was Hermana Ritchie for half a day, and I love her so much—miss her already).

While we were in the Atlanta airport, this worker asked if we were Jehovah's Witnesses. A couple stopped and asked us if we proselyte in the airport because they never really see missionaries there (they were in GA for their granddaughter's farewell!). Then a little kid asked if we were going to Wichita for vacation or if we lived there, and when we told him neither, he said, "…why would you go to WICHITA then?" He sounded so concerned. It's so flat here, and I miss my mountains already. Nonetheless, I'm excited to be a missionary!

Wednesday, we woke up and went to the mission office, where we met our trainers and had LOTS OF TRAINING. I think we got there at like 8:00 and left around 2:30. BUT GUYS, MY TRAINER IS INCREDIBLE!! She's literally the GOAT (like actually—her name is Sister Goates). She's from Queen Creek, Arizona! I think her sole flaw is that she's a Utes fan, but she loves the U just as much as I love the Y, so I can respect it. AND one of the very first things she asked me was if I like Swig… SO THE FIRST THING WE DID WAS GET SWIG!!!! It's like two hours from our actual apartment in Junction City, so now I'm just praying I get transferred to Wichita at some point because I need my Swig. (It really is an addiction.) Our apartment is super cute, and it's one of the really nice ones in the mission, so… I'm just worried for when I get transferred. Oh! And we had a member dinner that same night! So I got thrown straight into work.

The rest of the week is honestly just a blur. The days blend together but slower than they did in the MTC, which is trippy. I've met lots of members, lots of friends, and we put Alex on date, which is so cool!! I don't know, a part of me feels like I'm just here. My teaching stinks, and I hate doing the 12-week training thing (because we have to do roleplays, and I hate them). It's hard to have faith that it's going to help me when I dislike it so much. I'm struggling with the standards (I'm only allowed to wear three rings TOTAL??!!) and not being able to text anyone SUCKS!! But I'm loving everything else! Oh! And I've been a missionary for a whole month!! Everyone go celebrate for me! Actually, tons of stuff happened this week, and I was going to bring my journal to actually write about it, but now we're in Manhattan, and I forgot my journal—whoops! So this is what y'all get.

Scripture of the week is Alma 36:27! Think of all the times the Lord has helped you in your life and just remember that HE WILL STILL DELIVER YOU!! Keep looking for those daily miracles and focusing on the Lord's hand in your life.
